Liberation Pathways (LP) fosters individual and collective wellness through transformative and reflective, holistic approaches that center land-based healing, community care, and the restoration of cultural knowledge. Our work is rooted in the understanding that healing the land and healing ourselves are deeply interconnected - as we tend to the land, the land tends to us.

At the heart of this approach is the creation of sanctuary spaces led by and for historically marginalized communities. Serving as more than just a setting for our work, LP’s farm and native forestland are active participants in the healing process. By centering land-based healing, we support participants in reconnecting with their indigeneity—their deep-rooted belonging to place—while critically examining the systemic forces that have disrupted these connections. Through immersive experiences in regenerative farming and Indigenous-informed land stewardship practices (such as those appropriated into “permaculture”), herbalism, ecological stewardship, and somatic healing, we cultivate awareness that environmental justice and healing justice are inseparable. We recognize that for communities most impacted by systemic oppression, wellness is essential for sustained environmental activism and systemic change.

  • While dominant cultural narratives emphasize individualism, many People of the Global Majority (PGM) hold collectivist values that prioritize interconnectedness. LP provides a forum for shared healing, fostering solidarity and countering the imposed isolation that results from colonial and capitalist structures. Healing together in community is not only culturally appropriate but also powerful in creating lasting transformation.

  • We work to reclaim and restore access to healing methodologies that have been extracted, commodified, or made inaccessible to marginalized communities. Many “alternative” or “cutting-edge” healing modalities recognized today—such as herbalism, mindfulness, and somatic therapies—are rooted in Indigenous knowledge yet remain out of reach for those who need them most. LP is committed to bridging this gap by honoring ancestral ways of knowing while also adapting Western approaches to meet the specific needs of our communities.

  • The land is both our teacher and our healer. We look to natural ecosystems for wisdom, recognizing that thriving communities, like thriving forests, are built on reciprocal relationships. Just as every organism plays a role in maintaining ecological balance, every person has a vital place within a healthy community. The afflictions of disconnection—whether trauma, systemic harm, or environmental destruction—mirror the ways extractive policies treat the Earth as a commodity. By restoring relationships with the land, we cultivate a paradigm of care that recognizes interconnection, reciprocity, and the inherent value of all living things.

  • Our physical location is 36-acres of farm and forest land in Oregon and many of our events and programs take place here. However, programs with the unhoused communities we serve take place at unhoused community camps, warming shelters, and other places in the community. Youth mentorship programs take place on the land, but we will also travel to schools, reservations, and other community centers. We only serve selected counties Oregon at this time.

  • We welcome folx to apply for volunteer positions via an application located under the "Support" tab at the top of this page. Please note that we carefully vet all volunteers and might conduct a background check (depending on the position) to insure the safety of our participants. “The trees act not as individuals, but somehow as a collective. Exactly how they do this, we don’t yet know. But what we see is the power of unity. What happens to one happens to us all. We can starve together or feast together.”
