Liberation Cinema: Voices for Collective Healing is a three-film series with panel discussions that will highlight systemic and historical inequities at the root of our collective trauma, and guide us in exploring ancestral wisdom and innovative pathways for sovereignty, liberation, and healing.

Liberation Cinema is presented in collaboration by The Trauma Healing Project, Liberation Pathways Healing Space, and Umpqua Valley BIPOC Community

All films will be screened at The Trauma Healing Project, 631 E 19th Ave, Bldg. B, Eugene, OR.

  • Dark and Tender

    December 10 - 6:30-9PM

    Opening Film: Dark and Tender: A Film by the Chronically UnderTouched (CUT) Project, Directed by Aaron Johnson - A powerful short film, “Dark and Tender” follows ten Black men on a transformative retreat with the Chronically UnderTouched (CUT) Project outside Seattle, Washington. The men seek to reclaim platonic intimacy and tenderness through close encounters with nature and depictions of gentle Black masculinity, restoring the vital aspect of touch by replacing violence and rough play with care, connection, and intimacy. Panel discussion facilitated by director, Aaron Johnson. 

  • No Place To Grow Old

    December 13 - 4-6PM

    Film: NO PLACE TO GROW OLD, Directed by Davey Schaupp - Our Housing Crisis Has A Human Cost. American adults are aging into homelessness at unprecedented rates. Older adults (55+) are the fastest growing population entering homelessness across the country. Their numbers are on pace to triple by 2030. Facilitated panel discussion to follow.   • ETERNAL SONG

    December 17 - 6:30-9PM 

    Film: The Eternal Song, Directed and Produced by: SAND (Science & Non-duality)  - Ancestral Wisdom For Collective Healing. The vision for the 12-film documentary series is to honor Indigenous resilience, illuminate sacred wisdom held for humanity and Earth, and invite healing across communities facing trauma and colonial erasure.
